Belgium - Collective agreement in the chemical sector - November 30, 2021

The active members of the Christian trade union ACVBIE/CSCBIE have approved the draft agreement in the chemical sector which was reached by the social partners on 25 October. The main points of the agreement are: an increase in the minimum wage of €0.20 per hour or €34.67 per month to be implemented in two phases (1 January 2022 and 1 April 2022); for non-traditional companies, a 0.4% pay increase as of 1 November 2021 with a minimum of €0.10 per hour or €17.33 per month and a 0.4% increase in shift bonuses; a coronavirus premium of €200 net for 2021 (pro rata to hours worked); and an increase in the union premium to €145 for white-collar workers.
