Bulgaria -Miners’ strike over reduced wages -October 04, 2013

Miners of the Republika and Obedinen mines of Otkrit Vagledobiv Mines EAD went on strike over reduced salary payments. The miners are on the work floor but refuse to perform their tasks. They say that the company has reduced their wages by 20% for not meeting work volumes. The company, which is experiencing financial difficulties, has promised to pay delayed wages for June within 10 days and the July wages by the end of the month.
