Summary:

This WageIndicator Data Report presents the results of the face-to-face WageIndicator survey of the labour force in Kenya, conducted in February 2012, aiming to measure the wages and salaries earned by Kenyan workers, including the self-employed. In total 1,515 persons were interviewed. The survey distinguishes registered self-employed, employees with a permanent contract, with a fixed-term contract and workers without a contract. Older workers are more often self-employed and they have more often a permanent contract. By contrast, young workers much more often work without an employment contract and they more often have a fixed-term contract.
