The aim of the event is to inform about the Decent Wage Bangladesh research project, and to formulate the planning of the next phase of this project. The target audience are trade unions and employers organisations in Bangladesh, the BIDS team in Bangladesh, the global WageIndicator Foundation team and the funder Mondiaal FNV and the Bangladeshi team from BIDS.

He is a Senior Research Fellow at the Bangladesh Institute of Development Studies (BIDS). Md. Shahinur Rahman has more than 12 years of working experience with Worker Rights Organizations, trade union and various international development organizations. For the last seven years he has the in-depth working experience and knowledge of labour movement, program and partnership management, strategic involvement, capacity building and organizational development with Trade Unions/Federations and Worker Rights Organizations in Bangladesh and to some extent in the south and south-east Asia, specifically involve with the program in Myanmar, Nepal and Sri Lanka.

Ruben Korevaar

Ruben Korevaar works as policy advisor for Mondiaal FNV, a Dutch Trade Union Support Organisation that promotes decent work in several global supply chains. Ruben looks after Mondiaal FNV’s work in the RMG/textile sector. He provides technical support to industrial partners in the textile supply chain to strengthen social compliance and promote decent work. An important aspect of his work is to align and work with several stakeholders like trade unions, brands, suppliers, CSOs and governments to support innovation, foster partnership, strengthen policy development and compliance.
