إجازة الأبوة
لا يتضمن قانون مركز دبي المالي العالمي لعام 2005 أي نص بشأن إجازة الأبوة. ينص قانون 2019 على إجازة أبوة مدفوعة بالكامل مدتها 5 أيام للآباء عند ولادة طفل أو تبنيه. يجب أن يكون العامل قد أمضى فترة التأهيل لمدة سنة واحدة قبل الحصول على إجازة الأبوة. وللحصول على إجازة الأبوة، يجب على العامل إبلاغ صاحب/ رب العمل بنيته في القيام بإجازة قبل 8 أسابيع على الأقل من الولادة أو تبني الطفل. ويمكن أخذ الإجازة في غضون شهر واحد من الولادة أو تبني الطفل (تحت سن 5 سنوات).

إجازات لأسباب خاصة
According to the Federal Decree-Law, workers are entitled to various types of leave. These include study leave for exams with proof of enrolment and exam dates, sabbatical leave for national or reserve service for national workers, bereavement leave starting from the date of death with evidence upon return, and parental leave with proof of childbirth. Additionally, bereavement, parental, annual, and unpaid leave may be combined.
Workers are entitled to paid leave in specific circumstances, including bereavement leave, 5 days for the death of a spouse and 3 days for close family members—starting from the date of death. They also receive five working days of parental leave within six months of a child’s birth, which can be taken either continuously or intermittently. The Cabinet may define additional types of leave. Workers enrolled in approved educational institutions may be granted up to 10 working days of study leave annually, provided they have completed at least two years of service. National workers are entitled to sabbatical leave paid by the government for national service. All leave requests must be supported by official documentation. Detailed provisions are outlined in the Implementing Regulation.
A worker may take unpaid leave with the employer’s approval, provided it is beyond the types of leave already specified. However, this unpaid leave does not count toward the worker’s service duration or retirement contribution period under applicable laws.

A Muslim employee who has completed at least one year of continuous employment with an employer is entitled to a maximum of 21 days of unpaid leave to undertake the Hajj pilgrimage once during their period of employment.
