Delo in Plače
Minimalna plača
Wages are composed of basic wage, part of the wage for job performance and some additional payments. Another element of wages can be remuneration for business performance if it is provided in a collective agreement or employment contract. The basic salary of a worker is determined by taking into account the degree of difficulty of the work for which an employment contract has been concluded. Wages must be paid in cash. Regarding wages, the employer must consider the minimums established by law and/or collective agreements, which are directly binding.
The basic pay is determined on a monthly basis according to the level of difficulty of work for which the worker has been employed. The wage period in Slovenia cannot exceed one month. Wages have to be paid within 18 days of the end of the wage payment period. Employers are required to inform the worker of the day of payment and any changes in such day by written notice. Workers' wages are directly deposited into their bank accounts in such a way that the salary is available to them on the due date.
Wages must be paid no later than 18 days after the end of the relevant pay period. If payday falls on a holiday or other non-working day, payment must be made on the next working day. The employer must issue a payslip by the end of payday and an annual statement by 31 January for the previous calendar year. The costs of payment are borne by the employer.
A deduction in wages may be made only in accordance with the law. An employment contract cannot allow an employer to withhold a worker's wages.
