United Kingdom - Strike mandate renewed at energy regulator - April 30, 2026
Around 1,000 workers at energy regulator Ofgem, represented by the Public and Commercial Services Union (PCS), have voted to renew their strike mandate in a dispute over pay, job security and working conditions. The dispute has been ongoing since 2025, with workers having already taken industrial action. PCS reports some progress in negotiations, including on office attendance arrangements, but key issues remain unresolved. These include the absence of an acceptable pay offer, concerns over potential redundancies and relocations, and limited worker involvement in decision-making. The renewed mandate enables further strike action if talks do not lead to an improved offer.
