Switzerland - New agreement for publishers - April 30, 2026

The Syndicom union has approved an industry agreement with the Swiss Media Publishers Association (VSM). After a long period without a collective bargaining agreement, this agreement once again establishes minimum standards for media professionals in the German-speaking part of the country. The collective agreement is a compromise negotiated with VSM, Syndicom announced. It aims to re-establish binding minimum standards after two decades without regulations in an environment characterized by cost-cutting measures. The industry agreement is "a first step towards a genuine collective agreement," Syndicom added.
