Slovenia - Public sector wages increase 0.9% - April 30, 2026

As of 1 April, basic salaries in the public sector increased by 0.9%, the SDZNS union announced. This is a partial adjustment to inflation based on the formula as envisaged in the salary reform. A new, harmonised salary scale came into force on 1 April. Representatives of the Government and public sector unions also envisaged a method of adjusting salaries to inflation during the negotiations on the salary reform. Under the new system, starting in 2029, wages are to be adjusted annually by 80% of the increase in consumer prices, unless a different agreement is reached by 1 April.
