Norway - Agreement for fire and rescue workers - March 31, 2026

A new agreement for municipal fire and rescue workers has been concluded for the period from 1 January 2026 to 31 December 2027. Delta and Fagforbundet unions reached the result with KS, the municipal employers’ organisation, following negotiations on working time arrangements. The agreement clarifies and strengthens how working time is regulated in the sector. It reinforces the role of unions in workplace arrangements, requiring discussions on physical activity during working time and on the organisation of home standby duties. It also introduces a requirement for agreement where average working time exceeds 48 hours per week over a year.
