Belgium - Minimum wage increase - April 30, 2026
The minimum wage is going up by € 35.70 before tax from 1 April. The increase was agreed in 2021, but only now kicks in. As a result of the increase, the guaranteed average gross minimum wage rises to € 2,189.81 per month. The minimum wage applies to all employees aged 18 and over. It is binding and covers all sectors. Sectors are, however, permitted to agree on higher minimum wages, and they often do so. According to the Christian trade union, ACV-CSC, around 100,000 workers in the country are on the minimum wage.
