Austria - Pay deal for hospital workers - March 31, 2026

A new collective agreement has been approved by non-medical workers in religious hospitals in Upper Austria following prolonged negotiations and industrial action. The agreement was reached by Vida union with employers after eight bargaining rounds and two strike days involving around 10,000 workers. The deal was accepted by a large majority of workers, with 88% voting in favour, bringing the dispute to an end for this bargaining round. The agreement includes a pay increase of 3.3% on wages and allowances from July, with a duration of one year.
