Switzerland - New collective agreement for painters and plasterers - December 31, 2025
From April 2026, a new collective agreement will regulate working conditions in the painting and plastering trades. Unia members have approved the new agreement, which brings more modern working conditions and strengthens employee rights. The social partners welcome the fact that the agreement has been materially improved and that monitoring and penalties for violations of the collective agreement have been significantly tightened. In particular, the new agreement gradually reduces unpaid travel time by half, from the current 30 minutes to 15 minutes. It also provides for new surcharges for Saturday work and higher lunch compensation. The automatic cost-of-living adjustment will be up to 2%.
