Spain - Minimum wage earners to be exempt from income tax - March 31, 2025

The Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Labour have reached a landmark agreement ensuring that workers earning the national minimum wage (SIM) will be exempt from paying income tax (IRPF) in 2025, according to Europapress. The move aims to protect low-income earners from additional financial burdens following this year’s wage increase. This development comes after intense negotiations between the two ministries. This agreement is a big win for workers’ rights. It means a 4.4% increase, which is the biggest rise the experts suggested.
