Sweden - Employers want to abolish shorter working hours - December 31, 2024

In November, the unions in industry demanded a 4.2% wage increase for next year. The employers called the figure "completely unrealistic" and on 19 December the Swedish Technology Companies - which represents the majority of all technology companies - came up with their counter-offer. The organization did not mention a percentage, but wants to see significantly lower wage increases. At a press conference the Swedish Technology Companies focused on the concerns that exist in the world. According to the employers, the country is in a recession and the situation looks tough in industry. The technology companies want to remove all agreements on shorter working hours.
