Q: What are the Factory Pages?

The Factory Pages are a new facility from Gajimu. Factory Pages give the public access to the results of the Decent Work Check Survey that is done on the level of individual garment factories (Gajimu also conducts and collects Surveys for the garment/textile sector as a whole)On the Factory Pages section a list of surveyed garment factories is shown. Selecting a factory from the list, detailed information regarding the factory pops up, including:name and address of the factoryname of trade union (if any)link to the applicable Minimum Wagelink to the factory-level Collective Bargaining Agreement (if any)link to a Better Work Indonesia compliance report (if the factory is also a member of Better Work Indonesia)information about when and how many data is collectedthe result of the Decent Work Check Survey, level of compliance with the Labour Law based on previously conducted Decent Work Check Survey(s) through the Gajimu site and/or face-to-face interviews conducted with the support of local students and/or trade unions.

Q: How do the Factory Pages work?

On the Factory Pages you will find a list of surveyed garment factories. To find out what the real working conditions in each factory are, you can click the name of the factory that you want to know more about.Information about Survey data will be given to employers and trade unions before we publish this data on Factory Pages. We give a 1-month period for employers and trade unions to clarify or give feedback regarding the Survey results, creating an opportunity to conduct a social dialogue and/or negotiate using Survey results as input.After 1 month Gajimu will publish the Decent Work Check Survey results on Factory Pages. Employers and trade unions may advise Gajimu on their negotiation process or any steps taken to improve working conditions and industrial relations within the company. Any progress in improving working conditions will also be published on the Factory Pages.

Q: Who can access the Factory Pages?

Factory Pages can be accessed by the public at here (in Bahasa Indonesia). All information on the Factory Pages is for free and you do not have to sign in.

Q: How does Gajimu obtain its information on the Factory Pages?

Gajimu collects information on working conditions through its Decent Work Check Survey that is done face-to-face and online (available at gajimu.com).In July - September 2017, Gajimu assisted by local students and FBS Garteks KSBSI, has conducted a face-to-face Survey in 45 garment factories in West Java, Banten, and Jakarta. At the end of September 2017 more than 2000 face-to-face Surveys were collected to provide the database for Factory Pages.Gajimu also collects Surveys online, where garment workers and employers in Indonesia can fill out the Decent Work Check Surveys and actual working conditions in their factory.

Q: Is the information on the Factory Pages reliable?

Since information on working conditions is submitted by workers and HR voluntarily, Gajimu cannot guarantee 100% of its accuracy. However, Gajimu encourages its respondents to provide accurate and precise information about the real working situation.Prior to conducting a face-to-face Survey, Gajimu team members always ask for a respondent’s consent, explain how the Survey works and how it may benefit workers and employers. In this way, the respondents will be aware that the quality of the Survey information determines the reliability of the data displayed on the Factory Pages.Gajimu strictly guarantees the anonymity of all the respondents who fill in the Survey. The quality of data on the Factory Pages will increase in line with increased participation in the Decent Work Check Survey.

Q: How many Surveys are required to display data on the Factory Pages?

If there are at least 20 respondents for a factory Gajimu will display Survey data on Factory Pages.

Q: How often are the Factory Pages updated?

Data in Factory Pages comes from online and face-to-face Surveys. Online Decent Work Check Surveys are collected continuously at Gajimu.com/garmen, and a face-to-face Survey is done once a year.Gajimu also provides space for employers and trade union to update the Factory Pages on steps taken by both sides to improve working conditions and industrial relations within the factory. The progress of what actions were taken based on Survey result will be given special attention on the Factory Pages.
