June 2023 - Spain - The CJEU rules that the ratio of a VTC permit for every 30 taxis is contrary to the law of the European Union

The Court of Justice of the European Union has ruled that limiting one license for Transport Vehicles with Driver (VTC) for every 30 taxis is against the law.

It encourages companies that operate in the Uber, Cabify, and Bolt platforms to obtain more permits.

This ruling represents a setback for the taxi sector and the Ada Colau city council in Barcelona, which currently applies this regulation.
