Spain - Agreement on minimum wage - January 31, 2026
The Government reached a social‑dialogue agreement with the unions CCOO and UGT to raise the national minimum wage to € 1,221 per month for 2026. The 3.1% increase will apply retroactively from 1 January and was welcomed by trade unions as an important step to protect purchasing power. Employer organisations refused to sign the pact, warning about higher costs for small firms. The Government also committed to preventing employers from absorbing the increase through bonuses, a long‑standing union demand.
