Slovenia - Reduced working time scheme - March 31, 2026
Labour market and pension reforms introduce new measures affecting working time arrangements for older workers and the long-term retirement framework. A new 80-90-100 employment arrangement entered into force on 1 January 2026. Under the scheme, workers approaching retirement may reduce their working time to 80% of full-time hours while receiving 90% of their salary. Pension and disability contributions continue to be calculated as if the worker were employed full time, meaning pension rights are preserved despite reduced working hours. The measure is available to workers aged 58 or those with at least 35 years of pensionable service and requires agreement between the worker and the employer.
