Slovenia - Footballers’ union announces strike - January 31, 2026
The Professional Footballers’ Union of Slovenia (SPINS) announced that professional players would strike from 30 January to 1 February 2026. The union is demanding recognition of players and coaches as regular employees with full social-security rights and collective bargaining protections. SPINS also called for tax reforms that would place athletes on an equal footing with colleagues in other European countries.
