Slovakia - Strike warning at steelworks - January 31, 2026

Unions at the U. S. Steel steelworks in Košice declared a strike alert. The reason is that even after eight negotiation rounds no new company collective agreement could be concluded. This was announced by the chairman of the Trade Union Council Committee of the OZ KOVO U. S. Steel Košice. The previous collective agreement at the metallurgical enterprise was valid until 31 December 2025.
