Portugal - New agreement for food retail sector - January 31, 2026
A new collective agreement was signed between the employers’ association in the food retail sector ADIPA and the SITESE trade union, resulting in average wage increases of 5.1%. The agreement also includes a 25% increase in meal allowances and a higher base salary for entry-level employees above the national minimum wage. In addition, the agreement foresees the setting of the basic entry-level salary above the national minimum wage. In total, the collective agreement covers approximately 500 companies and more than 20,000 workers.
