Norway - New main agreement - January 31, 2026
Emergency preparedness and shop stewards' conditions for performing their duties were important topics when LO union confederation and employers’ association Spekter agreed on a new main agreement for four more years. Spekter organizes many businesses with a responsibility for safety and emergency preparedness. Co-determination has been a main theme in the negotiations, and the parties emphasize the need for local cooperation agreements to be concluded at the enterprises that ensure the influence of the employees. The new main agreement makes it possible for these agreements to take into account, among other things, how the working situation for shop stewards on rotation can be adapted to the position.
