Netherlands - 7.5% wage increase for security workers - January 31, 2026
Firefighters, emergency dispatch personnel, medical responders, and other employees of the security regions will receive a nearly 7.5% salary increase over the next two years. The FNV union reached this agreement with the employers' association WVSV after a long and difficult negotiation process. Salaries in the security region will increase retroactively by 4.1% as of 1 August 2025. Another 3.1% increase will follow on 1 August 2026, and 0.1% on 1 January 2027. In addition, a generous travel allowance has been agreed upon. The new collective agreement will run for 24 months: from 1 August 2025, to 1 August 2027.
