Italy - School strike - January 31, 2026

The first strike of the year in public, municipal, and private schools was held on 12 and 13 January 2026. The strike was called by the unions Flp, Confsai, Conalpe, and Csle. The demands range from a wage increase "with the effective application of this as a European standard," to the recognition of meal to the extension of strenuous work to all school workers at all levels, to checks on managers who fail to properly apply the National Collective Agreement, creating psychological and physical difficulties for staff.
