Hungary - Union demands higher pay for health workers - February 28, 2026
After its consultations with the State Secretariat for Health, the Independent Health Trade Union (FESZ) revealed the wage increase proposals it has formulated for the period between 2026 and 2030, not only for nurses. They are also calling for a wage adjustment for doctors and those working in the technical and economic fields. The union has outlined a wage trajectory that would not mean a one-time correction, but a structural wage arrangement fixed in advance for several years. For 2026, they propose a 20% wage increase for skilled workers, a 15% correction for those working in technical and economic fields, and an increase of at least 10% for residents.
