Sweden - New agreement for academics in independent schools - December 31, 2025
Employers’ association Almega Education has agreed with the Swedish Association of School Leaders and the Swedish Association of Academics SSR on a new collective agreement for academics employed in 800 independent schools in just over 2,000 workplaces. SSR is particularly pleased that the support during the transition will now be better for their members. The agreement is the last piece of the puzzle for the Swedish Association of School Leaders, since there are now agreements in all relevant agreement areas where school leaders work. The agreement means that graduates in independent schools are covered by general terms of employment with the possibility of individual agreements, including regarding remuneration and the timing of salary revisions.
