Hungary - Agreement on minimum wage increase - December 31, 2025
Employers and unions reached a decision on the scale of minimum wage rises to propose to the Government for 2026. The monitoring committee of the VKF, a forum of employers, unions and the Government, decided to propose raising the minimum wage for unskilled labourers by 11% and the minimum wage for skilled workers by 7% in 2026. If the proposal is approved, the monthly minimum wage will rise from HUF 290,800 (€ 757) to HUF 322,800 (€ 867) for unskilled workers and from HUF 348,800 (€ 908) to HUF 373,200 (€ 972) for skilled workers. Union association Liga called the agreement “a success” that would boost real wages. On 4 December, the prime minister announced the corresponding increase of the minimum wage.
