Paternity Leave

A worker is entitled to fourteen days of paternity leave upon the birth of their child.

Parental Leave

No provisions on parental leave were identified from within the law.

Flexible Work Option for Parents / Work-Life Balance

The Labour Act provides that a person is entitled to five days of bereavement leave on the death of an immediate family member. Additionally, if a child is hospitalized, a parent may take responsibility leave upon receiving advice from a registered medical practitioner, with appropriate proof of the child's hospitalization. Furthermore, when the child is discharged from the hospital, the registered medical practitioner will advise on the sick leave to be granted to the parent.
