Cooperation is built upon\nmutual respect, confidence and freely available and honest information, and\nensures the possibility for employees and their representatives to influence\ndecisions through consultation1 with Essity management.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>Promoting social responsibility includes important principles concerning\nhuman and trade union rights, as well as improving health and safety in the\nworkplace and environmental protection.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>This Agreement covers all activities where Essity has direct control. Where\nEssity does not have direct control, it will exercise its best efforts in order\nto secure compliance with the standards set out in this Agreement. Essity will\nnotify its subcontractors and licensees of this Agreement and encourage\ncompliance with the standards.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>The parties to this Agreement are Essity, the Swedish workers Union\n(Unionen), IndustriALL Global Union and Essity Group EWC (European Works\nCouncil).\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>Based on the parties' common recognition of fundamental human rights and\nEssity's Code of Conduct, the purpose of this Agreement is to monitor the\npractical application of the agreed principles. This Agreement also provides\nthe parties with a basis for discussing improvements in working practices or\nany positive contribution they may wish to make to economic and social\nprogress.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Ch3>Principles\u003C\u002Fh3>\n\n\u003Cp>\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cdiv class=\"cbaClause highlight\" id=\"clause-eqpay\">The parties are in agreement that the following principles, derived from ILO\nDeclaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work, ILO Conventions No.\n29 \"Forced Labour\", No. 100 \"Equal Remuneration\", No. 105 \"The Abolition of\nForced Labour\", No. 111 \"Discrimination\", No. 138 \"Minimum Age\", No. 182 \"Worst\nForms of Child Labour\", and Essity's Code of Conduct, will guide Essity's\nactivities and its relations to its employees. Essity is\ntherefore committed to ensuring that both permanent, part time workers and\nhired-in personnel are treated fairly. Essity recognizes that permanent\nemployment is preferable to both parties. The parties acknowledge that\noccasionally hired-in workers are necessary and that effective use of such\nallows Essity to quickly adapt to changing conditions.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>Outsourcing is normally an area where Essity is formally obliged to notify\nand conduct formal negotiations with its employee organizations and will comply\nwith any such requirements.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cdiv class=\"cbaClause highlight\" id=\"clause-TRADEUNLEAV_trigger\">7.Essity will demonstrate good faith and mutual respect in dealing with its\nemployees and their representatives in the workplace. At the same\ntime any proven violation of the principles contained in the Agreement that is\nnot remedied despite warnings will lead to termination of relations with the\ncompany concerned.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>10.Essity recognizes the seriousness of blood borne virus infections and the\npotential impact they can have on the workplace and lives of employees.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>Essity will therefore address blood borne infection in accordance with\nadopted policy.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Ch3>Implementation\u003C\u002Fh3>\n\n\u003Cp>Essity will inform its business groups about the existence and the content\nof this Agreement. Essity will take necessary steps to make all local site\nmanagement aware of their obligations according to this Agreement. Essity will\nensure that appropriate translations of the Agreement to all affiliates that\norganize employees in Essity world-wide, and broadly publicize the existence of\nthe Agreement and explain its implications to their affiliates within Essity.\nThe parties to the Agreement may also decide to cooperate jointly in promoting\nand explaining this Agreement and its implications.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Ch3>Grievance \u002F Complaint I Procedure\u003C\u002Fh3>\n\n\u003Cp>In the event of breach of the Agreement the following procedure will\nnormally apply to claims by covered employees:\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>1.The employee or her\u002Fhis local trade union should raise the complaint with\nthe local site management.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>2.If the complaint is not resolved with the local site management the\nappropriate national trade union will raise the issue with the human resource\ndepartment at business group or regional level.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>3.If still unresolved, the complaint will be referred to IndustriALL Global\nUnion\u002FUnionen who will raise the issue with Essity Corporate Management.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Ch3>Review\u003C\u002Fh3>\n\n\u003Cp>Essity, Unionen IndustriALL Global Union and Essity Group EXE EWC Team will\nmeet every second year to review practice in the area of the agreed principles\nand follow up this Agreement.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cdiv class=\"cbaClause highlight\" id=\"clause-cbadate_end\">\u003Ch3>Duration, Renegotiation and Termination\u003C\u002Fh3>\n\n\u003Cp>Hereafter the agreement is applicable for an indeterminate duration if not\ncancelled or asked renegotiated by one of the parties.
