The Mozambican government approved new statutory minimum wages, which takes into effect from April 1, 2019. The wage increase ranges between five and 12 per cent for 17 sectors and sub-sectors.
For the private sector, the government only sets the minimum wage. All wages above the minimum are negotiated between the employers and the unions.
