Minimum Wage Increase in Vietnam from January 2015 - December 9, 2014

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has agreed to the increase in Vietnam’s minimum monthly salary. Under a government decree that takes effect January 1, 2015, Vietnam will raise the wage floor to VND2.15 million–VND3.1 million ($101.4-$146.2), depending on the location.

Employees in region I, covering the urban districts of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, will receive the highest minimum salary of VND3.1 million a month, while those in region II, consisting of provincial-level cities, will earn a minimum monthly salary of VND2.75 million. The figures are VND2.4 million and VND2.15 million for region III and IV, respectively.
