The national minimum wage has increased to €9.15 per hour from January 1st, 2016 following a recommendation from the Low Pay Commission. (An experienced adult worker – for the purposes of the National Minimum Wage Act – is an employee who has an employment of any kind in any 2 years over the age of 18.)
A single person on the minimum wage working 39 hours per week will be better off by €708 per year or €14 per week as a result of the increase.
