Punjab government increases minimum wages of labourers . The wages of unskilled labourers like chowkidaar, peon, helpers have been revised from Rs 5,200 to Rs 5,695 per month, while that of semi-skilled workers have been revised from Rs 5,980 to Rs 6,475 per month.

The minister said that the skilled worker like black smith and electrician having five year experience on un-skilled post will get minimum Rs 7,372 per month instead of Rs 6,877.

Likewise, the wages of category-A staff like post graduate, MBA has been revised from Rs 10,370 to Rs 10,865, category-B like graduate has been revised from Rs 8,700 to Rs 9,195, category-C staff like under-graduate has been revised from Rs 7,200 to Rs 7,695 and category-D staff like matriculate has been revised from Rs 6,000 to Rs 6,495 per month.
