United Kingdom - Average wages top pre-financial crisis levels - February 29, 2020

Average real wages, which take account of the impact of inflation, have risen above their pre-financial crisis level for the first time. An increase of 1.8% took pay excluding bonuses to GBP 474 (EUR 551) in the year to December, just GBP 1 above the peak of GBP 473 (EUR 550) in March 2008, the Office of National Statistics said.
