Mr. Rizwan Ahmed Khokhar\n\n        \u003Cp>Site Operations Head, WW\u003C\u002Fp>\n      \u003C\u002Ftd>\n      \u003Ctd>5.Mr. Javed Ahmed\n\n        \u003Cp>Vice Chairman\u003C\u002Fp>\n      \u003C\u002Ftd>\n    \u003C\u002Ftr>\n  \u003C\u002Ftbody>\n\u003C\u002Ftable>\n\n\u003Cp>SHORT RECITAL OF THE CASE\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>WHEREAS on the expiry of the Agreement dated 7th July, 2009 for Lahore\nFactory and other establishments located in the Province of Punjab and for\nestablishments of West Wharf Factory, F\u002F268 at Karachi, the union served on the\ncompany a Notice dated 1st July, 2011 for the termination of Agreement signed\non the above mentioned date under section 2(xxv) of the Industrial Relations\nAct, 2008 (Annexure-A), a Charter of Demands under cover of their Notice dated\n1st July, 2011 (Annexure-B) with a view to reach a new collectively bargained\nagreement and also for the enhancement in salaries and allowances in view of\nthe rise in the cost of living.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>AND WHEREAS pursuant to the said Notices and the Charter of Demands the\nrepresentatives of the company and the Union held bilateral negotiations with a\nview to reach to an amicable agreement so that an agreement in accordance with\nthe provisions prescribed under the Industrial Relations Ordinance, 2011 can be\nentered into and duly executed between the parties. The C.B.A also held a\nGeneral Body Meeting at Karachi\u002FLahore Factories and obtained permission from\nthe workers to negotiate the above charter of demands with the management.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>AND WHEREAS during the course of discussion and negotiations, the Union\npointed out the increase in the cost of living and inflationary trends which\nfactors the company and the Union took into consideration during the process of\ncollective bargaining and negotiations on the demands relating to increase in\nsalary and allowances contained in the said Charter of Demands. As a result of\nthe said bilateral discussions, negotiations and collective bargaining on the\nsaid Charter of Demands, the union and the company have concluded the following\nagreement which includes clauses therein for the enhancement in salaries and\nvarious allowances including conveyance, cash family medical, house rent,\nutilities allowances and other allowances to meet the rise in the cost of\nliving and expected future rise in the cost of living for period covered under\nthis agreement and to further improve the standard of living of the workers.\nThis agreement covers all demands and claims of the Union contained in the said\nCharter of Demands and other demands and issues brought for negotiations and\ndiscussion during the course of collective bargaining of the said Charter of\nDemands, in full and final agreement thereof;\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>AND WHEREAS wherever the expression ‘Lahore’ referred to in the\nagreement it would mean and include the fGlaxo employees of the company’s\nestablishments located in the Province of Punjab.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>AND WHEREAS wherever the expression ‘Karachi’ referred to in the\nagreement it would mean and include the fGlaxo workers of the company’s\nestablishments located in the Province of Sindh either at West Wharf, F\u002F268 or\ntransferred at any other site.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>NOW, THEREFORE, THIS AGREEMENT WITNESSTH AS UNDER:\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>TERMS OF AGREEMENT\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Ch2>1. HOUSE RENT ALLOWANCE\u003C\u002Fh2>\n\n\u003Cp>\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>It is agreed that House Rent Allowance for all fGlaxo permanent workers as\non 1st July, 2011 and on the payroll of the company as on that dated at Karachi\nand Lahore shall be paid as under:\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>42% of the Basic Salary plus Rs. 1715\u002F- (Rupees One thousand seven hundred\nand fifteen only).\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>All others terms and conditions governing the House Rent Allowance shall\nremain unchanged.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Ch2>3. CONVEYANCE\u002FTRANSPORT ALLOWANCE\u003C\u002Fh2>\n\n\u003Cp>\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cdiv class=\"cbaClause highlight\" id=\"clause-COMMUTE_trigger\">\u003Cp>i) It is agreed that the Transport Allowance of all male workers at Karachi\nand Lahore shall be increased from the existing Rs. 1800\u002F- per month to Rs.\n1990\u002F- (Rupees one thousand nine hundred and ninety) per month.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>ii) It is also agreed that a sum of Rs. 1560\u002F- per month presently being\npaid to the female workers at Karachi travelling in company’s vans will be\nincreased to Rs. 1750\u002F- (Rupees one thousand seven hundred and fifty only) per\nmonth.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>iii) It is also agreed that the compensation for the female workers in\nKarachi for the expenses incurred by them in reaching upto pickup point for\navailing the company’s hired busses shall be increased from Rs. 1615\u002F- to Rs.\n1800\u002F- (Rupees one thousand eight hundred) per month.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>All the above revision in conveyance allowance shall be applicable for all\npermanent workers of fGlaxo who were on the payroll of the company as on 1st\nJuly, 2011.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003C\u002Fdiv>\n\n\u003Ch2>4. MEDICAL FACILITIES\u003C\u002Fh2>\n\n\u003Cp>\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cdiv class=\"cbaClause highlight\" id=\"clause-healthcareaccess\">\u003Cdiv class=\"cbaClause highlight\" id=\"clause-healthcareaccessrelatives\">\u003Cp>a) It is agreed that the Cash Medical Allowance for workers’ families\nshall be increased from Rs. 1715\u002F- to Rs. 1885\u002F- per month for Karachi and\nLahore w.e.f. 1st July, 2011.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003C\u002Fdiv>\n\n\u003Cp>\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>b) It is also agreed to increase the amount being reimbursement by the\ncompany to workers for purchase of spectacles from Rs. 550\u002F- to Rs. 575\u002F-\n(Rupees five hundred and seventy five only) once in a year w.e.f. the date of\nsigning of this agreement.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>c) It is agreed that Hepatitis is included in the treatment of chronic\ndiseases.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>All other terms and conditions governing medical facilities shall remain\nunchanged.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003C\u002Fdiv>\n\n\u003Ch2>5. UTILITY ALLOWANCE\u003C\u002Fh2>\n\n\u003Cp>It is agreed to increase the utilities allowance by Rs. 50\u002F- w.e.f. 1st\nJuly, 2011 to all the fGlaxo employees who were on the payroll of the company\non that date at West Wharf Factory, Lahore Factory and at Sales office from the\nexisting Rs. 400\u002F- to Rs. Rs. 450\u002F- per month.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Ch2>6. MISCELLANEOUS ALLOWANCE\u003C\u002Fh2>\n\n\u003Cp>\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>a) Shift Allowance\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>It is agreed to increase the rate of Shift Allowance for workers including\nChowkidars (fGlaxo) employed at West Wharf, Lahore Factories and Sales Offices\nw.e.f. the date of signing of this agreement, as under:\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>i) ‘B’ SHIFT\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>From Rs. 40\u002F- to Rs. 45\u002F- per shift worked.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>ii) ‘C’ SHIFT\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>From Rs. 145\u002F- to Rs. 175\u002F- per night shift worked.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>All other terms and conditions governing this allowance shall remain\nunchanged.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>b) Inconvenience Allowance\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>i) It is agreed to increase the existing rate of Inconvenience Allowance at\nKarachi\u002FLahore Factory from Rs. 16\u002F- to Rs. 18\u002F- per day worked from the date\nof signing of this agreement.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>ii) It is agreed to raise the Inconvenience Allowance from Rs. 30\u002F- to Rs.\n35\u002F- for Saturday, and Rs. 120\u002F- for Sunday on account of food and tea (in case\nthese are not provided by the company) from the date of signing of this\nagreement.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>All other terms and conditions governing this allowance shall remain\nunchanged.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>c) Meal Allowance\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>i) It is agreed to increase the Meal Allowance from Rs. 65\u002F- to Rs. 70\u002F-\n(Rupees seventy only) per meal for those works who are unable to avail the meal\nfacility due to exigencies of work. This will be effective from date of signing\nof this agreement.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>ii) It is also agreed to increase the Meal Allowance from Rs. 65\u002F- to Rs.\n70\u002F- (Rupees seventy only) for Van Sircars and Van Drivers who go out Karachi,\nLahore, Multan cities for delivery and return on the same day after completing\ndelivery for such days only. This will be effective from the date of signing of\nthis agreement.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>All other terms and conditions governing this allowance shall remain\nunchanged.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>d) Sterile Area\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>At Karachi and Lahore factories Sterile Area Allowance will be increased\nfrom Rs. 40\u002F- to Rs. 45\u002F- and will also be paid to Checkers and Inspectors from\nthe date of signing of this agreement.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cdiv class=\"cbaClause highlight\" id=\"clause-NOCTPREM_trigger\">\u003Cp>e) Over Night Stay Allowance\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>Overnight stay allowance for workers will be increased from Rs. 600\u002F- to Rs.\n650\u002F- per night.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003C\u002Fdiv>\n\n\u003Cp>\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>f) Heavy Duty Allowance\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>It is agreed to revise the heavy-duty allowance at Sales Offices from Rs.\n50\u002F- to Rs. 55\u002F- per day worked as and when required.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>g) Filling &amp; Blowing Area Allowance\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>It is agreed to pay Rs. 45\u002F- per day worked to the workers of Ceporex\nDepartment.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>h) Outdoor conveyance charges\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>It is agreed to revise the conveyance charges from Rs. 6\u002F- to Rs. 8\u002F- per\nkilometer to workers who are deputed on outside company’s assignment.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>The above allowances will be applicable from the date of signing of this\nagreement.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Ch2>7.
