These competences are a key\nfactor in improving performance, which is to the company’s advantage and\nimproves employees’ employability.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>Lifelong Learning therefore constitutes a chance for employees to develop in\ntheir professional life and allows the company to meet its present and future\nneeds within a constantly changing market environment. This requires a\npermanent monitoring of the necessary skills and a planning process to address\nfuture learning needs.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>Employees are aware of the fundamental importance of learning. They are\nresponsible to ensure their employability and will therefore actively invest\ntime, effort and attention in learning.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>On this basis Allianz SE and the SE Works Council have concluded this\nAgreement on Guidelines concerning Lifelong Learning (“Agreement”) in the\nfirm conviction that a sustainable life-long-learning-strategy will avoid or\nreduce negative impact of technical and organisational restructuring.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Ch3>2.Scope\u003C\u002Fh3>\n\n\u003Cp>This Agreement applies to Allianz SE and its subsidiaries (henceforth both\nreferred to as “the Company”) with registered offices in the Member States\nof the EU, the contracting states of the EEA, and Switzerland (“Allianz\nGroup”).\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Ch3>3.Terms\u003C\u002Fh3>\n\n\u003Cp>In order to ensure a common understanding of the terms used in this\nAgreement, the following definitions will apply throughout the rest of this\ndocument:\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>Learning is one powerful development tool to increase knowledge, skills and\ncompetencies.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>It encompasses expanding and deepening knowledge, capability to apply\nskills, exchange of experiences and expertise, reframing patterns of behaviour,\nconveying values and, directed dissemination of information.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cdiv class=\"cbaClause highlight\" id=\"clause-trainingfund\">\u003Cp>Learning should be achieved through various methods, media and learning\nenvironments - depending on the \u003Cmark data-markjs=\"true\" class=\"keyword highlight focus\">training\u003C\u002Fmark> needs and learning style \u002F behaviour\nof the employee, e.g \u003Cmark data-markjs=\"true\" class=\"keyword highlight\">training\u003C\u002Fmark> on the job, face-to-face interaction, an online\ncourse or a mixing of these environments (blended learning).\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>For instance, e-Learning is one of many methods to experience learning\ncontent and to assist collaborative learning. It refers to all forms of\nelectronically supported learning (for out- of-classroom and in-classroom\neducational experiences via technology), ranging from transmitting learning\ndocuments electronically (i.e. via e-mail), over web-based \u003Cmark data-markjs=\"true\" class=\"keyword highlight\">training\u003C\u002Fmark>s, virtual\nclassroom \u003Cmark data-markjs=\"true\" class=\"keyword highlight\">training\u003C\u002Fmark>s, and learning-oriented social media activities (i.e.\nforums, glossaries). “Learning” is hereafter referred to as „Lifelong\nLearning\", in line with the definitions set out in this para 3.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003C\u002Fdiv>\u003Cp>\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Ch3>4.Objective\u003C\u002Fh3>\n\n\u003Cp>The general objective of this agreement is to respond through Lifelong\nLearning to the challenges referred to in the introduction. Lifelong Learning\nshall contribute to the future development of the Allianz Group as an advanced\nknowledge-based employer with sustainable economic development and greater\nsocial cohesion. It should also allow us to support future business\ndevelopments, new businesses and systems. For this purpose, it is particularly\nimportant to foster interchange, cooperation and flexibility of employees to\nadapt to different learning methods and to encourage the sharing and\nimplementation of best practice education as well as \u003Cmark data-markjs=\"true\" class=\"keyword highlight\">training\u003C\u002Fmark> systems across\nthe Allianz Group, in due consideration of the learning and development needs\nof the respective Company.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>To realize this general objective the Allianz Group pursues in this\nagreement specific objectives concerning Lifelong Learning. In particular, they\naim to (the following list implies no order of priority):\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>■support high performance of employees and quality of their work (learn to\ndo things better and smarter)\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>■improve the productivity and efficiency of the Company\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>■help to improve the quality and attractiveness of opportunities for\nLifelong Learning as well as the accessibility to such measures\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>■adapt job profiles resulting from change\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cdiv class=\"cbaClause highlight\" id=\"clause-eqtraining\">\u003Cp>■reinforce the Company’s contribution to social cohesion, corporate\ncitizenship, intercultural dialogue, gender \u003Cmark data-markjs=\"true\" class=\"keyword highlight\">equal\u003C\u002Fmark>ity and personal fulfilment\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>■allow employees to actively influence their learning path by giving them\nthe opportunity to agree upon their development goals with their superior\n(supported by HR) in alignment with the company’s long-term strategy\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>■help promote creativity, innovation, competitiveness, employability and\nthe growth of an entrepreneurial spirit\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>\u003Cdiv class=\"cbaClause highlight focus\" id=\"clause-discrimination\">■ensure access to Lifelong Learning by people of all ages and gender,\nregardless of race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, physical and mental\nabilities, religious beliefs or other ideologies\u003C\u002Fdiv>\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>■contribute to increased participation in Lifelong Learning by all kinds\nof employee as mentioned above\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>■promote co-operation in all areas of education and \u003Cmark data-markjs=\"true\" class=\"keyword highlight\">training\u003C\u002Fmark> in order to\nfoster high quality and consistency in learning standards\u003C\u002Fp>\u003C\u002Fdiv>\u003Cp>\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>■ensure compliance with any regulatory requirements\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>The employer and employee should both play an active role in ensuring these\nobjectives are achieved.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Ch3>5.Areas of activity\u003C\u002Fh3>\n\n\u003Cp>We anchor Lifelong Learning as defined in para 3 as a corporate\nobjective.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>To achieve this we provide adequate and appropriate learning and development\nresources, systems and offerings. These include the following:\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>■establishing an annual adequate budget for learning purposes within the\nCompany\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>■activities to monitor changes in current job profiles as well as the\nemergence of new job profiles and respective skills needed\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>■global coordination of messages, platforms, communication and metrics on\nlearning\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>■ as economically reasonable, aligning \u003Cmark data-markjs=\"true\" class=\"keyword highlight\">training\u003C\u002Fmark> and development for\nmanagement, to be globally consistent in conjunction with the Group learning\nfunction\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>■implementation of a global e-Learning architecture\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>■implementation of a globally-linked standardized e-Leaming platform which\nwill take into account both language and cultural differences to enable all\nCompanies to make use of this facility\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>■as a basic of principle, allocation of time and space during office hours\nto enable employees to engage in learning as part of their learning and\ndevelopment goals, but also learning outside of working hours on the\nemployee’s own initiative\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>■a systematic and continuous process that ensures the Company has the\nright number of people in the right jobs at the right time and costs (e.g. by\nstrategic workforce planning)\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>We regularly measure the effectiveness and sustainability of learning by\ncommonly-agreed standards and KPIs, on a Company and Group level. Examples of\npossible KPI’s that may be used can be found in Appendix 1.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Ch3>6.Responsibilities\u003C\u002Fh3>\n\n\u003Cp>The companies of the Allianz Group are responsible for implementing this\nagreement in their own business areas. The Executive Staff assume a special\nrole.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>a)Board\u002FSenior Executives\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>■consider Lifelong Learning of employees as a key aspect of high\nimportance and act accordingly\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>■commission the implementation of suitable and effective measures for\nsupporting the objectives laid down as part of this agreement\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>b)Management\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cdiv class=\"cbaClause highlight\" id=\"clause-trainingprogrammes\">\u003Cp>■ensure suitable \u003Cmark data-markjs=\"true\" class=\"keyword highlight\">training\u003C\u002Fmark> and development opportunities and associated\ntime is made available to employees to allow them to be effective in their\nrole\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>■ ensure that \u003Cmark data-markjs=\"true\" class=\"keyword highlight\">training\u003C\u002Fmark> and development of their employees is a priority\nthat supports the achievement of their business goals\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>■ensure pre discussion on learning objectives and post discussion on the\nimpact on the employee’s development\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>■ carry out a review of the \u003Cmark data-markjs=\"true\" class=\"keyword highlight\">training\u003C\u002Fmark> and development provided as part of\nthe regular yearly performance process (i.e. mid-year review, end-of-year\nreview) to ensure it continually matches the needs of the business and the\nemployees\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>c)Employees\u003C\u002Fp>\u003C\u002Fdiv>\n\n\u003Cp>■are aware of their high personal responsibility to enhance their own\nemployability by being actively engaged in learning, acquiring knowledge, as\nwell as continually reviewing and updating their skills. To evidence this, we\nwould expect all employees to have personal learning and development goals\nwhich are reviewed regularly, updated and agreed with their Manager (supported\nby HR).\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Ch3>7.Implementation and follow-up\u003C\u002Fh3>\n\n\u003Cp>On the basis of this agreement, the Companies of the Allianz Group will as a\nfirst step analyze, in cooperation with the local employee representatives (if\nexisting), the need for action within their area of responsibility. The details\nand the timeline of the identified activities will be discussed with the local\nemployee representatives (if existing).\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>Two years after signing this agreement the Companies of the Allianz Group\nwill be asked to provide a report on the actions taken to implement the\nprinciples of this agreement, specifically on the topics as outlined in para 4,\n5 and 6.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>The report should also provide information on the total investment in time\nand resources for learning and development per employee, i.e. number of\nlearning activities provided, number of participants and budget allocated to\nlearning.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>Thereafter, regular on-going joint reviews of the activities covered by this\nagreement will also be carried out to ensure best practice applications can be\nshared.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Ch3>8.Closing Provisions\u003C\u002Fh3>\n\n\u003Cp>a)Effectiveness and Termination\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>This Agreement becomes effective upon signature by both parties. It may be\nterminated in writing by either side subject to a period of notice of one year\nto take effect at the end of a calendar year.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>b)New Member States\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>Allianz SE will encourage the Companies of the Allianz Group in new member\nstates of the EU or of the contracting states of the EEA, to fully comply with\nthis Agreement at their earliest opportunity.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>c)Applicable Law\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>This agreement is valid unless the issue concerned is regulated by\nperemptory norms of national law in the EU or the contracting states of the EEA\nor of Switzerland.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>d)Language\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>The English language version of this agreement is compulsory.
