United Kingdom - Airport strike ends as workers accept pay agreement - May 31, 2026
Strikes by ABM workers at London Stansted Airport have been averted, as Unite union members have accepted an improved pay offer from their employer. Approximately a hundred staff for the firm, who look after passengers with disabilities, were due to walk out earlier this month in a dispute over pay. The workers have now accepted a two-year pay agreement. First, they will get an improved offer of an 3.8% uplift, backdated to November 2025, plus an additional 1% from this month, then in year two they will have a pay rise of 3.5%. This year they will also get a £ 350 (€ 405) pro rata payment.
