Turkey - Logistics strike reaches two months - September 30, 2026

On 28 September, the 61st day of the strike at Austrian-owned Hödlmayr Logistics in Çayırova (Kocaeli), the DİSK-affiliated union Nakliyat-İş held a mass press statement and sit-in outside the headquarters of Doğuş Otomotiv. Hödlmayr transports vehicles for Doğuş Otomotiv, the distributor of Volkswagen and other car brands. Around 100 workers have been on strike since 30 July, after talks on a first collective agreement failed. The workers organised in Nakliyat-İş in 2024 and obtained the legal majority, but the union says the employer refuses to recognise it. It also accuses the company of deducting vehicle damage from wages.
