Referring to new Federal Statistical Office data, it said employees were absent for 8.2 days on average in 2025 due to illness or accident, compared with 6.3 days in 2010. The SGB linked the rise to work intensification, staff shortages, time pressure, irregular hours, psychosocial stress and constant availability.
