IF Metall union officially terminated all conflict measures against electric car manufacturer Tesla’s operations effective 19 August 2026, the union announced on 13 August 2026, ending the longest labour dispute in modern history of the country. The union said Tesla had rendered the strike ineffective by individually buying out its remaining striking members, calling the tactic unprecedented strikebreaking "not seen in Sweden since the 1930s."
