Sweden - Strike at game company averted with first collective agreement - September 30, 2026
A planned strike at games company King, the developer of Candy Crush Saga, was called off on the evening of 24 September. The company signed its first collective agreement with Sveriges Ingenjörer and Unionen. The two unions had first requested negotiations in May 2025. They issued a strike notice in September after talks and mediation failed, with the strike due to start on 25 September at King's offices in Stockholm and Malmö. Three more unions, DIK, Akademikerförbundet SSR and Naturvetarna, had announced sympathy action from 29 September. King, which trades in Sweden as Midasplayer AB, has around 550 employees in the country. King will be covered by the Tech Sverige IT agreement from 1 April 2027.
