Spain - Union says it will fight for salary increases - May 31, 2026

The general secretary of CCOO stated that the union will fight for pay increases "agreement by agreement," given the situation of nearly 10 million employees with frozen salaries for a long time and with serious difficulties in making ends meet in a scenario of generalized price increases. He denounced that, despite the economy maintaining growth and employment reaching historic highs, these advances "are not necessarily being transferred to the pockets of the entire working class." In this context, he explained that the union will demand salary increases in agreements of between 4% and 7%.
