The mobilisation was called by UGT FICA, CCOO Industry and ELA amid a deadlock in talks with the company over wages and purchasing power. The strike is reported by the unions as the first in the company’s 125-year history. Negotiations for the new agreement began in January 2025 and cover around 9,000 workers employed by Iberdrola in electricity generation, networks and energy services.
