Spain - Renewal of agreement for automotive company - May 31, 2026

Automotive company Renault has reached an agreement with UGT and CCOO unions to renew the collective agreement and thus unblock one of the moments of greatest labour tension experienced by the company in decades. The agreement, which still needs to be ratified by the union membership, includes salary increases, flexibility measures, and industrial commitments that, according to the company, will ensure the future of the plants and facilitate the arrival of new models in Valladolid and Palencia. The agreement comes after weeks of tension between management and unions, with mobilizations and strikes at the Palencia and Valladolid plants, as well as at the Sevilla Refactory and the Madrid work center.
