Slovenia - Public sector unions demand talks - September 30, 2026
On 16 September, the Prime Minister questioned the remaining three pay rises under the public sector pay reform. The reform was agreed with unions in November 2024 and provides for six increases; three have already been paid. After the Prime Minister’s remarks, the two negotiating groups of the public sector unions asked the Government to convene the negotiating commission without delay. They called the suggestion of stopping the legally agreed pay increases and changing the pay system unilaterally a gross interference in social dialogue. On 30 September, the Ministry of the Interior and Public Administration announced it had started appointing a Government negotiating team.
