Slovakia - Union rejects accusation by minister - June 30, 2026
KOZ SR union rejected claims by the Interior Minister about the failure to sign higher-level collective agreements for the public and state service. KOZ said the decision on signing agreements is not made by one union leader, but democratically by the union presidents representing the employees concerned. It also stressed that the issue is not part of tripartite negotiations, but a separate collective-bargaining process covering public-service and state-service agreements. According to KOZ, the bargaining outcome had guaranteed a 5% pay valorisation for 2026, but the finance minister later announced zero valorisation.
