Slovakia - Mass layoffs at railway company - February 28, 2026
According to the railway workers union OZZ, the Slovak Railway Company (ZSSK) plans to optimize the number of employees through mass layoffs in accordance with the Labour Code and the Collective Agreement. As the company informed, this procedure is based on changes in the organization of work and management of the company. ZSSK emphasized that in previous periods it had adopted several measures to reduce costs; however, in some activities there was a permanent decrease in the need for labour.
