Serbia - Metalworkers’ union in conflict with aircraft engine repair plant - June 30, 2026

The management of the aircraft engine repair plant of the German company MTU in Nova Pazova refuses to sign the collective agreement that has been under negotiation since 2025, and has fired the union's chief representative on the grounds that he "revealed an official secret", said the president of the Metalworkers' Union "Nezavisnost". The union, the only union in that company, has initiated the continuation of negotiations on signing a collective agreement, the last time in March of this year. Given that the employer prevented union activity the union organizes a warning strike.
