Poland - Government sets 2027 minimum wage, rejecting unions' demand - September 30, 2026
The minimum wage will rise from PLN 4,806 (€ 1,096) to PLN 4,950 (€ 1,128) gross per month from 1 January 2027, an increase of 3%. The minimum hourly rate for certain civil-law contracts will rise from PLN 31.40 (€ 7.16) to PLN 32.30 (€ 7.36). The amounts had been negotiated in the tripartite Social Dialogue Council (RDS), but the social partners failed to reach agreement. The unions had jointly proposed raising the minimum wage to at least PLN 5,200 (€ 1,185). The employers wanted the increase to stay no higher than the Government's proposal. As the RDS could not agree, the decision fell to the Council of Ministers, which by law had until 15 September to act. In the end, the Government kept the amounts it had first proposed in June.
